We are seeking a smart, dedicated, friendly Medical Equipment Delivery and Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the delivery, installation, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and patients’ homes. We do provide training, however a technical background, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards are attributes of a successful candidate for this position.Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport, deliver, and install medical equipment to healthcare facilities and patients' residences, ensuring correct setup and functionality.
- Provide complete instructions to healthcare staff and patients on the proper use and care of equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and meets safety standards before delivery.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on medical equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on various types of medical equipment, including but not limited to mobility aids, respiratory devices, and monitoring systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all service and repair activities, including parts used and time spent on each job.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with healthcare providers, patients, and their families by delivering exceptional service and support.
- Educate clients on equipment usage, care, and safety protocols, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Provide timely follow-up and communication regarding service appointments and equipment status.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies regarding safety and operational practices.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on the latest medical technologies, equipment trends, and safety protocols.
- Keep the service vehicle and equipment storage areas organized and compliant with safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in biomedical technology or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in medical equipment delivery, repair, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment safely.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; familiarity with transportation regulations is a plus.
- Familiarity with healthcare practices and terminology is beneficial.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75lbs.
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to perform technical repairs and maintenance.
